Shiny newness
Aug. 24th, 2005 10:54 pmSo, here I am, now on my brand new computer! *puts on sunglasses* The new screen is very bright, especially the white bits at the sides of most pages since the resolution is higher than most people's. Still. Shiny, well defined flatty - this is the kind of screen DVDs were invented for! :D Need to get a monitor riser stand though - was surprised to see the ones we use at work sell in Officeworks for $80 a pop!
Was very nice to see how the installation programs still say "You need this much room - you have this much" and seeing big big number there... almost time for the counter to give up and say "You so have enough room to install this a hundred times over without breaking a sweat!" *remembers when high-school computer teacher was stoked to get his hands on a 1GB external drive* Just got the essentials for now, still have to install all my graphics programs again, and re-load all the music files. I'm glad that the burning-and-transfer of all the other files went so well (all my pictures are already loaded - well, I needed to for giantnewwallpapers!)
Tomorrow is back to work and returning to normal routine - the galahs and the hairy caterpillars will have to do their thing without an audience. No more taking days off (until next month) since I've drained my flexitime. Hopefully the requesting hordes have gone to sleep again (dropped S right in the thick of cite searches, but I'd already planned for today off). Perhaps I'll actually remember to pick up one of the Office packs (oh look, he's relying on memory - that'll work...).
