I had something else, but forgot it...
Feb. 24th, 2005 10:04 pmA couple of quotes from the West's lettercol in the leadup to the election - and a perfect summation of the whole thing:
"Watching the lead-up to this election is like watching a Collingwood-Essendon game. You don't want either of them to win."
"I'd like to thank Jim Wallace of the Australian Christian Lobby for drawing my attention to the "abhorrent philosophies" of the Greens. Who would have though that ideas such as environmental sustainability and human rights were so evil?"
First letter by J.D. Henderson, Gooseberry Hill, pub. Tue. Feb. 22.
Second letter by Patrick Davis, Mosman Park, pub. Thur. Feb. 24.
And oh dear, I think I may have overdone the get-myself-deported jokes...
(or I just tried to avoid the bloody obvious ;))
Now, where is my weekend? :D I feel like it's Friday already instead of Thursday, and I've got Labyrinth to watch (yeah, it's taken this long to come out in Region 4), and tomorrow's going to see a bumper crop of comics and trade paperbacks leaving the comic shop with me ;) - I think I need the long weekend moved up to now :D
And something strange - I started reading my Friends List tonight, and when I got to the bottom of the page I suddenly realised I didn't have my normal background - the style had switched from Magazine back to Generator. Anyone else have this happen? It's all right now, but strange...
