Okidokie, it is now time for my week off. And now I'm wondering "couldn't it have come in a week's time?" Thanks to the workload all week (since I was filling in all week) I had almost no time to get my processing done. People coming up with OMG URGENT CALL NOW CALL NOW... HAVE YOU CALLED YET?! requests ain't helping either. It's like even when I'm getting something done, and I look up, and half an hour has passed. Doubly so if it's helping someone in the general-dogsbody capacity. I'm tired of this - no matter how fast I try to do stuff, it's always slow too slow (yay introversion striking again). If I even try, there's just more that appears.

So, I've gone on break without having done all the labelling that's been there since last week, or the shelving, or the general desk-clearing. It's all contradictory, I'm told at different times what things need to be done now. So now whatever happens I feel like shit for not finishing whatever doesn't get done when we're understaffed. I actually like the processing and labelling - giving everything a consistent look (so I keep them to myself), but it isn't customer-based until someone wants, so... it's left.

I'm wearing the print off my shift keys already.

So, I did what anyone would do - retail therapy! Nah, not really, just my usual weekly comic shop. What I wasn't counting on was the size of the haul - in number and in actual size. Four of the trade paperbacks I'd ordered came in - two Nightwings, The Kingdom, and JLA Year One (the only one I was kinda expecting to be in). JLAYO seems thick enough in its own right, yet it pales next to the other one I picked up - Essential X-Men Vol. 6, being three times the thickness of the average trade (but in black-and-white) - I hadn't paid any attention to the preview ads, but when I saw that it had some of the early Rachel-Phoenix issues, well, what other chance am I going to get to read them?

Well, onwards to days of doing nothing!

Oh, good. You found JLA Year One. :D

The Kingdom is good, too. Weird, and Clark and Diana's child looks like Cable, but still good.
