This is partially so I can remember the link, and partially a test of the new picture-posting tool (and the new icon).

As part of the new anti-terror laws the PM and his cronies have rushed through are new definitions of sedition, which could, should the urge take TPTB, be interpreted to mean "any criticism of the government", especially in these days of "You *dare* disagree with our leaders?! Disloyal! Un-your-nationality-here!"

The opinion article I want to remember is here - The Age, November 1st.

Another article from November 1st, this time from The West Australian, concerns the movie Gallipoli which is now too "anti-war" to show in some circles, and might fall into seditious territory.

Yes, I believe the PM when he says the new laws won't cover criticism. He'd never have anyone deported for supporting groups against the new changes (especially not any American students, nope...).

Huh. I bet it's the same way that "no one can be sacked for refusing to sign a workplace agreement". Yeah, just fire/arrest for a cover reason...
