seandcYeesh! Well, this is what comes of doing people a favour in this place!
Last night, I agreed to swap switchboard nights with someone as his area was undermanned. Figured I'd at least get away from it for several weeks thereafter.
WELL! This morning after I'd barely got in (doesn't anyone know not to ring before morning tea time? :lol:), I get a call from switch, accusing me and the other guy of messing around with all the settings and sending emails on the switchboard computers to a degree they were almost inoperative, and being told "changing the settings on a blind person's computer is just not on." Judge jury and executioner much? Me and the other guy didn't touch the mainly affected computer, we just went straight to the others and got on with taking calls... it happened to be quite busy at the time. So, someone must have gone in after we'd gone, yet I get the call. :mad: Sure, annoying that settings have been diddled with, but I didn't have a thing to do with it. Heck, I didn't even want to be there in the first place!
I got another call just before going to lunch, inquiring if I'd been given the list of the various colleges and campuses for people who ask - I had, but I'd also been using the online version, since the printed one was a few years old (ie, all old names), while the online had the current names. Well, turns out that computer crashed, it *MUST* have been my using the internet to look for this information in a way I'm comfortable with! Plus another reminder about messing with a blind man's computer settings. For pete's sake, I didn't mess with the settings, even though I could have easily, to make things easier for me to use. Plus if the computer is crashing thanks to internet use, maybe it's time to upgrade from WinNT...
Honestly, if *one word* is said about this at Friday's staff meeting... *snikt!*
