Police Squad! -in color!-
Aug. 26th, 2004 09:34 pmHooray! Thanks to some sage advice offered to
faith_of_borg, I've found a way to let my background shine through on my LJ :) Had to switch my style (as always unique) to Magazine, but it means my background works now. :) And as a consequence, I had to make all my text all colourful. :)
Came home this evening to find half the front yard gone! Landlord hired in a landscaping crew to do the lawns and get rid of the hedge-bushes (they'd gotten a bit too large for us to manage), and they'll be back for round two - the back!
I still don't agree with the whole southern railway thing, but I must admit, the work that's being done for it is really opening up the city! The removal of the ramp from the bottom of William Street has really opened the view of the river up when looking from the lights on the Terrace. And the demolition of the old Boans building (mostly - the major support struts are still sticking up - looks really weird since they're all different colours for different floors) where the new station will be has *really* opened up the west end of the Murray Street mall. From that huge hulking box to being able to see the old 20s facades on the other side, huge difference!
