It's No News Week!
Aug. 28th, 2004 10:49 pmo/' It's No News Week!
No one's dropped no bombs nowhere
Contaminatin' no atmosphere
Nor blackening no sky...
Just something I felt like proclaiming, since once again there's a been a bunch of articles in the papers about people blaming the internet for things their kids do. Sorry, but it's getting rediculous. It's raining - blame the internet. My cat sneezed - blame the internet. The Sun exploded - internaaaaaaarrgh!
Maybe, just maybe, some things that go wrong actually existed before the internet. Sure, there may be influences, but perhaps these people should be looking a little closer to home before deciding the internet was the sole cause of their ills. No, no such thing as peer pressure, it must be the internet!
Also, does anyone get the feeling that they're wearing signs saying "get in my way"? Yesterday, three buses came to Busport at the same time. All the disembarkees flowing nice and smoothly through the escalators and stairways. So how come I get stuck immediately behind the one person in 150-250 that treats the escalator like a fairground ride and stands still? Or in line getting lunch, most people are content to wait in line, already knowing what they're going to order. Nooo, this guy has to stand on my left shoulder, completely blocking me. My only way to leave was to force my way through several other people trying to get to the fridge. Even for my normal attitude, yesterday was trying like that...
But on the plus side, what seems to be becoming a weekly retail therapy session saw me walking home with Astonishing X-Men #4 and the Dark Phoenix Saga trade paperback. :) Just hope next week there's still more interesting stuff to get.

You're Scruffy!Wesley. Starting with Loyalty and
ending...well he's still scruffy and bitter.
Wesley's pretty much alone right now. What
this says about you: Oh dear, you're a bit
jaded, aren't you? You're unhappy about the
way your life has gone, but you deeply care
about the people around you. Don't worry,
things will get better, you just have to give
it time. And isolating yourself isn't going to
help.
Which Wesley Are You?
brought to you by Quizilla
Jaded? Isolated? Moi?

Wolfsbane -- A foundation in faith and spirituality
is what holds you together, despite the abuse
you have suffered from others. The scar you
bear is the tendency to blame yourself for all
that goes wrong in your life. As you try to
offset the misplaced guilt with a passion for
purity, you need to be careful not to be too
hard on yourself. The need to love and be
loved runs deep in you, and you are usually in
a relationship. You are very emotional, and
will ferociously protect friends and family.

Apart from atheletics (I'm more of just an immovable object or irresistable force), scared now...
