Randomness

Well, I've managed to fool my own memory. Star Trek Nemesis just finished on telly - I'd forgotten that B4 sings at the end, I'd managed to make myself think that he whistled "Pop goes the weasel".

And now the fun starts. S has toddled off on her 5 weeks LSL to get married (I'll be the last single in the library - I'm almost disappointed I'm not being asked when I'll make this year's trifecta, since I've got snappy answers for once, dangit!), so I get to fill in - more money, but trying to do more work. And teach even (work experiencer coming in). So, was off to the Royal for lunch. I had the steak (I really don't know why I bother looking at the menu) and the best seat at the table - the one directly overlooking the river. Outside table, less of a crowded feeling than inside. I'm told that this part of the East Perth re-development is quasi-European, only that there'd be people swimming in the water there. I'd settle for seeing some fish in this part, and deepening the little (artificial) creek that runs along the path and seeing fish in there. It'd be interesting.

Managed to just avoid a false-alarm bomb threat that brought gridlock to the city yesterday - passed some of the cop cars on their way there. Better luck came on my way home from the shops when coming up a hill a ringneck parrot landing caught my eye - and led said eye to the parrot's little friend, a
Western Rosella enjoying the flowers in the spring grass.. I've not seen one of those around here before before - especially since the kind I saw, according to the book, is more of a desert species than coastal.

You'll never guess )
