A star is born...
Apr. 14th, 2005 11:51 pmI said I'd mention it Rachel, so here it is :D -
faith_of_borg's roleplay journal (or one thereof) has been nominated for a "Best Cordelia" award. :D *drumroll and applause*
Today I've been using my head, figuratively and literally. Figuratively as in trying to find the best way to say "nup, ain't got that one" in fancy-wording. Literally when bringing the newly repainted journal display racks back in, and my head was all I could use to keep it balanced (because there's not a lot of hand-holds on there). Have I mentioned how heavy they are? As in, I could barely budge them along without help, forget lifting onto a trolley.
Am starting to play with the newtoyphotocopier/fax/scanner - forget training, I just get basic runthrough and am now "testing" my way through. Much better for sending article requests by emails - dragged kicking and screaming into the Century of the Fruitbat.
And I *so* need a stamp that just says "DER!" for the newspapers. Yesterday's headline: "Howard power-drunk: Gallop" DER! (and this is only the beginning - once control of both Houses goes to Howard in July...)
Another book meme:
1. Choose five books that are near you (or books that you couldn't live without reading over and over).
2. Take the first sentence of the first chapter and make a list in your journal.
3. Don’t reveal the author or the title of the book.
4. Now everyone try and guess:
1. "Story, place and time - these are the essentials."
2. "Marcus Cole still walked with a limp, a fact that did not go unnoticed by the young Minbari acolyte as Marcus entered the small temple."
3. "This is my favourite book in all the world, though I have never read it."
4. "All my life it seemed that--every time I turned around--I was losing people I loved: my folks, my brother Alex, the few friends I made at the orphange."
5. "Current theories on the creation of the Universe state that, if it were created at all and didn't just start, as it were, unofficially, it came into being between ten and twenty thousand million years ago."

If your ancient
civilization is from Mesopotamia,
then your life is pretty complex.
You had it
made long before the Greeks, and, you will
claim, even
before the Egyptians! How long
will you keep a grudge?
What is your ancient civilization?
