Tales of the day

Started the day wondering how my alarm was sounding when no time was showing on the face. Logic caught up a minute later and told me the power was off, and I'd woken up to a backup. Turns out that there'd been a bunch of pole-top fires overnight knocking out power lines. Got up breakfasted etc etc and out the door with a whole three seconds of electricity all morning (they tried to get it back, but it didn't work).

Also started the day with a not-quite-right ear. It was like a pressure change, but I couldn't get my ear to pop until I got home. Much fun for my first day back. Some people it was like listening to ghosts if they were too far away - I could hear they were talking, kinda, but only half-and-half. Or sometimes just a feeling I was being addressed from the left-side (which is normally my good ear). Anyway, it's better now, I'll be able to use the phone with the right ear. Which is the left. Got that right?

And some good news - oh Lesley, your parcel has arrived, thank you! :D I tried to ration myself, I really meant to... (you can guess what happened once I started on the biccies, can't you? ;)). Anyway, they were very nice. :)

And a thought for those of you who don't like Logan from Veronica Mars, just picture his little fights he arranges (I'm just up to the bum fights episode here in Australia) if he'd accidentally hired two ex-Marines; I'm thinking NCIS's Jethro Gibbs, and Justice League's John Stewart, and it's all a ruse to find the organisers of the fights...
