Dear diary, today Rachel made me go crazy*... (I said I'd do it :D)

Shocking as it may seem, I've been in a pattern of dvds, comics, and afternoon tv while at home loafing it up this week. Taken a couple of little breaks from this strenuous routine though, hard as that may be.

On Thursday I had planned to go into the city and get a
haircut and perhaps indulge a little retail therapy. But it was not to be. Why? Because the bus had to be 20 seconds early! Yes! The time it took to look from left to right when coming out of the park - zoom!

Instead, I just went to the shops by way of Shanks' Pony - needed at least to pick up some hot-cross-buns for Friday (the traditional kind are nicer than the choc-chip version). By some extraordinary coincidence ;) the centre had a stall with about a dozen rabbits on a big u-shaped table to say hello to. Or they were there to humanwatch. They at least seemed to take an interest - not that there'd be much else for them to do in their travelcages. The centre likes to have displays of animals from time to time - although I guess the birds a few years ago were too noisy to have again.

Saturday I was possessed of the idea to go comic-hunting again in a couple of other centres I'd missed. Luckily things were still manageable early on. But one store didn't have anything I was looking for, and the other I was five years too late, and they'd since gotten rid of their comics. I did pick up a book on the links between Li'l Johnnie and the rising right (when I'll actually get the chance to read it...) but apart from that what I mostly got from the trip was a good constitutional along the cyclepaths and parks. Nice and cool for it though.

Ramblings political, cut to preserve the sanity of the FL )

*and it wasn't even the no tv and no beer way
