Australians Are Morons!
Oct. 9th, 2004 08:27 pmDammit! Mark Latham's just gone on telly now to concede defeat. The sodding libs have won the election. *headdesk* Another three bloody years of li'l johnnie lying and demonising anyone who dare disagree with him and his cronies, to Sokar with the poor, let's get us a two-tier education system, force more people onto private health, destroy any form of unionism... bah!
Such a pity we don't seem to have picked up that little thing about term limits from the Americans ;)
I always said I've got a bad memory... seems that the whole country's got it. Such a pity that Australia in the new century has so little in common with all we once proclaimed about ourselves. Forget the whole "fair go" concept, now it's "step on everyone you can, and it's only a lie if you get caught without someone you can blame".
I'm only sorry I couldn't put the libs dead last on my white ballot paper - that went to One Nation (to be consistent), and Family First (impose our own standards on all) was second last...
So, like all the other times I've voted, I've been sorely disappointed in the whole thing (stupid safe liberal seat of Tangney). Much better part of the day was going to the DVD sale at the video store after voting. They had those new Buffy/Angel sets that have the same three discs as the old ones, but now all in one normal case instead of the huge box, and are less than half the price. Picked up both parts of Buffy s7 and the first half of Angel s4, as well as one of the X-Men cartoons ex-rental.
