LJ - engage!
Apr. 6th, 2005 11:57 pmArgh, I had this ready to transfer from notepad into LJ... and reboot!
Well, the rest of this week sees me boss-free (tralalala ;)) and all alone all day Friday. Have been spending my days attacking the shelves with knives and WD-40... has everyone finished their weird mental picture yet? :D It's gradually getting the old left-behind stickytape off the shelf-ends, although I don't think some of it will be removed with anything less than mining lasers.
Today saw me doing more ot the Colossus-work - helping the spraypainter move the two journal racks from our front reading area to the loading dock. Large racks made of wood and metal. Not exactly light (heck, given the way the legs were designed to catch *everything* I could barely drag it to move it). It occurs to me that even before the recent refits, for a building designed as a shopping centre some twentyfiveish years ago, there is woefully little access (both in terms of doors and access ways) for anything larger/bulkier than a tall bookcase.
Finally got my ears lowered yesterday - what a weight off my mind! Got into the barber's at a good time, straight to a chair for me - and not before time, my hair was starting to take on a life of its own. The bus stop nearest is by Government House (the Governor's official residence), looking right down into the gardens. If it wasn't for all the nosey parkers on the Terrace  it'd be so easy to totally forget everything and everyone in there. A feeling of being surrounded by the plants and only the plants, it'd seem like in there. So, watched a couple of mice scurrying back and forth between their tree-root hollow and the leaf litter and ivy.
I've noticed that my CD collection isn't as nerdy as it could be. I've taken steps to fix this, they should be here by the end of the month ;). Aye, shipping does take this long (ok, from the 17th to the 28th...)
faith_of_borg says I should make mention of... superbugs! We were talking about spiders and ants that refuse to be squished, which lead to:
"*Starts thinking of a twisted version of Highlander.*
In the end, there can be only one. May it be King Undead Ant...The
Immortal."
"Until another ant comes along... with a magnifying glass..."
"Or a toothpick instead of a sword. The only way for them to truly die."

Pair me with anyone, real life or fandom. And tell me why.
Um, probably fandom for me, if I'm to know who you're talking about...
