Main Street? Where's that then?
May. 8th, 2005 11:07 pmA thought occurred to me this week, while wincing from the loud beeps my new phone makes while dialling (and I set it to lowest settings...) to ask my mum what their new address is. Since moving to Beverley a decade ago, my parents have lived in about seven different houses. For about five of these places, I've had to ring up any time I wanted to post anything and ask the address.
I'm terrible for remembering the actual addresses - most of the time I'd be able to find the house ok - like this is still the same house I visited in December, it's easy to give directions to - I just had no idea of the street name just "through that little park, first house next to the old abandoned store." Same thing happened before - I can find "the house above the bank" fine, just don't ask me the address.
Methinks the back-ordering through Previews is starting to work - this week's little trip to the comic shop saw four trade paperbacks waiting for me. Ok, two were just released this week but the other two were back-listed. And I've got more on the way. This week was a big X-week (and now I've read everything-Exiles), I've still got a few more on order, and a stack of Bat-related books still to come.
Long day tomorrow, though bossless. I like getting it out of the way on Monday, but I wish it left more time for shopping. I've got a yen for chocolate cake and lemonade right now.
