I was checking the West Australian newspaper today, when I came across the following ad for the upcoming film Batman Begins:

Batman Begins ad

Anyway, the thing that drew my attention to the ad (apart from it being a good fifth of the page full of orange and black) was the fact that that picture is Perth's skyline. Even from the strange angle the Bankwest Tower (the triangular one) is instantly recognisable. That picture was taken from the Barrack Street jetty-square-precinct, looking north up Barrack Street. The building in the foreground is the Swan Bells Tower that houses the Bells of St-Martin-in-the-Field - seen from pretty much any other angle it resembles a sailcraft in copper.

Anyway, since I doubt they used Perth as the face of Gotham ;) I was curious as to whether anyone else had seen ads like this, with a local city Batmanified for the ad, or anything similar.

The Swan Bells Tower looks similar to the Swiss Bank Dildo in the middle of London.

I was looking at the Batman action figures at Wal-Mart last night.

I was Very disappointed that they didn't have a Bruce Wayne with
removable clothes.
