Seemingly long day today, with a sunny walk in, and a cloudburst on the way out. Coming in out of the rain is the most natural time to buy sunglasses, isn't it? ;) Well, they'll do until someone creates a magpie-repellant *goes to Collingwood and just drives around, meh heh heh*. Ok, wrong kind of magpie - as Bender would say "Hey, what's with the flying jerks?!"

You are an Iris:

You are logical, analytical, dignified, and wise.
You are studious by nature and may prefer books
to people. You tend to be a serious person but
are capable of making others laugh with your
dry sense of humor. Friends always benefit from
your advice.

Symbolism: Over the centuries the iris has come to
symbolize faith, wisdom, hope, and promise in
love.

You scored as FTL Travel. To build something worthy of the name "starship", we'll have to figure out a way of traveling Faster Than Light. Since Einstein threw a monkey-wrench into that idea under our current understanding of physics, most sci-fi writers use the idea of "hyperspace" or "subspace" -- a realm in which the tyranny of E=mc² does not apply.

Magpies? As in the birds? Heckle and Jekyll? Are they a big problem there?

And the weather seems to have been awful everywhere this past weekend. We had 90kmh winds yesterday, there was a power blackout in Mississauga (the city just to the west of Toronto), and some friends in Montreal lost some shingles off their roof.

I've never seen a real-life magpie - I don't even know if they're indigenous to this part of the world - so I can't tell you anything about how the Australian ones might differ.

Regarding the swooping, I've seen that kind of behaviour in other bird species - when I was about 14, I was at Ontario Place (a theme park here in Toronto) and I got attacked by seagulls.

As for the weather, it was weird again today - dreary and drizzly, with a sudden thick fog around 4 in the afternoon which cleared up by 5. It's clear(ish) now but damp. Ugh.
