You know the type of shields you see on Star Trek? The ones that glow all blue and egg-shaped when hit? The thought occurs to me that it won't need to be a scientist who invents them, just someone who's tired of people getting in their personal space all the time, and not giving any room to move without walking in traffic. Yeah, I thought about that in the city today while wishing I had a shield to push people away, why do you ask? Of course, it probably will be a scientist. Just a misanthropic scientist. Hmm-bway glaven!

Although, Friday did go a long way to making amends - I'd missed the CAT bus into West Perth, so making my way from East Perth on Shanks Pony meant I was coming the other way, past one of the model shops. And in the window? Ecto-1. A completed one so no worries about putting it together or painting or anything. Die-cast metal, about 30cm long (box says it's a 1:21 scale). So, as you can guess I was rather chuffed with that find. :D (*gasp!* "I'll take that one thanks mate!")

I got on the afternoon bus at the last possible second, I took the last *full* seat available - the seat directly behind the driver (normally I'd sit down the back, but like I said, last possible second, leaping for moving vehicle type thing). It was one of the oldest buses in the fleet, so there's a window in the barrier between driver and bus, so I was able to snoop at
all the switches buttons and levers, and trying to read what was on the newer machines. This was after a morning of getting close enough under the riverside streetlights to see the yellow bands on the wings of the corellas (medium-sized white cockatoos) flying over those couple of kilometres.

Have been bossless this last week, so have been merrily left to my own devices a bit, while catching up on some library stuff (I've been told "focus on disposition", but I need to leave something for next week), like showing S the way that I do journal processing so I can "focus on disposition" (don't worry, we're like this all the time):
*sees S's incoming journal pile is done - adds more*
"GAAAWWWHH! You were waiting til I'd finished weren't you?"
"Yes. Bwahahaha!"

Actually, I couldn't remember if I'd done these or not... picture smoke wafting out of ears at effort of thought etc *tiny violin plays*

Since your accomplishments are seldom noticed,
and you are rarely thought of, you are expendable.
That doesn't mean your job isn't important but if you
were in Star Trek you would be killed off in the first
episode you appeared in.

Toys? What toys? *waits for the Batman Lego to be released about April* ;)

And I know I don't particularly trust our upper class, but wow - I have more cannibal nutbar in me than most of the society types...

Huh... LJ is now doing an autosave of posts-in-progress now (of course, it could be something that's been around for a while, and I just never noticed the "Autosaved draft" line before).
