So this guy comes round the office today - a local hair salon has new owners (as of yesterday), and the guy came around drumming up business with special discount packages (well, guess they're discount - what I overheard had me boggling at the cost - yay haircuts for $13 place). He had a good patter going (I could hear it from my desk, since the crowd was gathered right next to it), but all I could think? What would they think getting Shepherd Book's mane in there? :D
We have a student seeing if she wants to go into library studies with us for a couple of days. Natasha, if you read this, she reminds me of how you looked back when we first met - fairly similar at least. Today she got to learn shelving BWAHAHA! ;) (well, I haven't had time to shelve or process). Nah, we'll be good with assigning tasks. Probably.
Once and future Tech's big wedding sendoff morning tea really served to remind me why I don't join in morning teas. The conference room is just too small for group gatherings - I couldn't hear any of the speechifying from just a metre from the door. At least they used my suggestion to razz him slightly - the Married... With Children theme.

Hello...
Date: 2005-07-06 10:20 am (UTC)Oh, I've moved again which is a reason why I haven't been on the Net for a long time, this computer had been sitting around not disconnected. I also bought a new computer monitor (one with the no back to them, the flat screen jobs. I now live in Beechboro.

Re: Hello...
Date: 2005-07-08 03:41 pm (UTC)Although this computer-sitting-around-disconnected thing has me confused - that's not possible is it? Next you'll be telling me there's people who aren't online every night
So, how's new house? :) Um... where is new house? *has no idea where Beechboro is*
And loud? The rally? I don't know what you're talking about ;). You should've joined in, for a quick easy trip up Barrack Street and snuck off at the station (not that I'd ever suggest that) Police were blocking off the entering streets and lights so no need to worry about crossing :D I'd say the upperlevel walkways, but they were crowded with onlookers too.
What's with Perth station anyways? I admit I don't go there very often anymore (since my bus leaves from the Esplanade Busport and not Wellington Street Station now, and usually I'm arriving on platform 2 anyways...) but they've had those huge plywood walls up blocking most of the concourse (great planning guys *sarcastic clap*) for many months now.
Re: Hello...
Date: 2005-07-09 09:57 am (UTC)Unfortunately I have to use the train station now. Back when I was living in Glendalough I hardly ever used it cos my bus left Wellington St bus station.
Beechboro is near Malaga and Midland. I like Gledalough much better but I wanted a bigger place and quieter neighbours. I got both of my wishes granted.
I WAS going to join in the rally but what if a stampede or something happened? That would be the end of me.
I was freaked out by the London blasts because my dad just recently came back from there last week and he used the tube. I also have a friend who lives near one of the stations and I emailed her asking her if she's ok.

Re: Hello...
Date: 2005-07-09 05:56 pm (UTC)I don't like the escalators at Perth station. You've got those jerks you mentioned pushing from behind, and even when there was open space there, it feels like you're always having to stop short when reaching the concourse, thanks to fools just standing there, or meandering to the down escalator. Every time.
But then, I'm so misanthropic I make Daria look like... some... really... social person...
Wow, Beechboro's that far east? Hooray for getting the bigger house and better neighbours though! Just don't fill it up too quickly
And no need to worry about stampedes - that doesn't happen until beloved leader brings in the troops to eliminate badthought ;)
Re: Hello...
Date: 2005-07-10 08:31 am (UTC)Yes I hate the train station and you get weird people there too sometimes.
That's it for a while. I'll check back for your entertaining journal entries sometime this week.
By the way, do you like birds? I loath them.
Natasha.
Re: Hello...
Date: 2005-07-10 03:42 pm (UTC)I'm so glad that Geoffy has given us Southern types our own train stations to be mugged and beaten at, instead of getting a nice smooth run from the city in one jump.
And now I have to find something entertaining to write *eep*
And yeah, I like birds. They remind me in my darker moments that life goes on. I might be all brooding, and yet here they are, flying along and chirping, not a care in the world. :)
